Here we are in Week 9 (actually 9 weeks and 4 days) and this baby is actually starting to look like a baby. According to Babycenter.com Baby Herron is growing all essential organs this week and little earlobes are starting to form.
All kinds of great stuff is happening this week to our large grape or large green olive. Depending on what website you visit for weekly updates our baby is either a large grape or a large green olive, I don’t like green olives (contrary to what Grandpa Kiesewetter thinks, side story below*) so I purchased grapes this week. We had a hard time finding a green dry-erase marker to draw the grape in our weekly pictures so I taped one to the dry-erase board. I hope you enjoy these updates as much as I enjoy doing them.
*How far along?: 9 weeks and 4 days
*Total weight gain: 1 pound (according to doc office)
*How big is baby?: the size of a large grape or large green olive.
*Maternity clothes?: no maternity clothes but I’ll admit that everything is TIGHT. I wore my black yoga pants to work today, hope no one notices. Side note here, I am going to need some maternity clothes and I can hardly find any at all. ANNOYING!!!!
*Sleep?: I’m getting to bed around 10-11 but I’m having a really hard time waking up.
*Best moment this week?: not sure if there is a best because there are soooooo many. I’ll go with only gaining 1 pound and making Kathy Herron’s chocolate chip cookie recipe with George……then eating 4 of them right away!
*Movement?: Nothing yet! I’m moving though, George and I are trying to do as many walks at night as we can (this is still true!)
*Food cravings?: I guess I still haven’t really been craving much but I’m still having food aversion. Kroger’s honey peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwiches have been my favorite so far!
*Labor signs?: Nope
*Belly button in or out?: In
*What I miss: I’m not going to lie about this one….I miss BEER!!!!!
*What I’m looking forward to: September 20th is our next doctor appointment and we get to hear the heartbeat again.
*Milestone: I can’t believe I’m in my 3rd month of pregnancy right now.
*****Side note on Grandpa Kiesewetter and the green olives. Apparently he thinks I love green olives, not sure where he got this idea because I really don’t like them at all. George and I filled in for Kathy when she was in Alabama visiting the Big Guy and we took Grandpa out to dinner at the Frisch’s in Middletown. Every night he would go to the salad bar he would bring back 6 or 7 green olives and towards the end of the meal he would tell me that half of them are for me. I tried saying that I didn’t want any but have you ever met this man? He is STUBBORN so I was forced to literally choke down 3 green olives almost every Tuesday night for a month. Love you Grandpa Kiesewetter but no more green olives!! haha!
I’d say a large green olive, since you ate them for 4 of the 9 weeks (and 4 days!!) that you have been “with child”.
Wow, so true. Didn’t even think of it that way! I just couldn’t bring myself to purchase the green olives for the picture since I always eat whatever I’ve been buying. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the weeks bring, hopefully they are all yummy foods.
LOL……..Did I detect a hint for maternity clothes?
YES!!!! haha
OK I really like all the comparisons for the size of the baby….
But it sounds more like you are making a martini with all the added extras…LOL
See you before Labor Day and no pun intended..
That’s hilarious Judy! What, didn’t you know I was mixing up a hot cocktail for 9 months? Well a little more than 6 months to go now…. going so fast!
See you this weekend!
BEEEEEPS!!! Your baby is a Beep this week!! 🙂
So true!!! Whenever I call them beeps people look at me sooooo funny!
