My little boy is OBSESSED with Iron Man to the point where I begged all my family friends to donate toy catalogs just so he could look through them to find his beloved character. Then I found out that Marvel Universe LIVE was coming to US Bank Arena and that was a game changer because now I’m excited along with my little boy.12244492_749384278540666_4070523572738274506_o

You’ll definitely feel the energy with cutting-edge special effects, pyrotechnics, aerial stunts, martial arts, motorcycles and more. This show is coming to the US Bank Arena December 17-20, 2015. There’s quite a few show time choices for all of the super heroes out there.

If you’re planning on heading downtown after Thanksgiving be sure to look for some Marvel super hero fun in and around the square.  I saw first hand in the lobby of the Fountain Square Garage (upper level) some super awesome elevator doors decor, pretty cool.

So I’m not the biggest baseball fan {gasp} but even I think it is cool for Cincinnati to be hosting the MLB All Star Game 2015. The buzz and energy around the city is contagious! Everywhere you turn or look downtown Cincinnati you’ll find “ASG” or “All Star Game” graffiti. My favorite ASG Cincinnati additions are a toss up between the Mustache statues around town and the Scripps Building transformation to resemble Mr. Redlegs with the pillbox hat and mustache.

Who is ready for SUMMER??? Oh, me, pick me! This past Saturday in Cincinnati was absolutely amazing and it reminded me of a classic summer day. We worked in the yard, took a walk around the neighborhood, had snacks and picnics on the driveway and pulled out every riding toy imaginable, it was a perfect day. One problem, it was reminding of how much I miss these summer-like days and I want them all NOW!

Bonnybrook Farms' Down on the Farm Company PicnicsKick off your summer with me and my family as we get ready with a “Yeehaw!” for the first annual Summer Fun on the Farm Festival at Bonnybrook Farms. I can’t wait for the live country music, BBQ foods, dozens of attractions and fun contests for the entire family. A bonus to the fun-filled day is that a portion of the proceeds will benefit River Of Hope Ranch, a local non-profit offering equine-assisted mental health counseling to children, teens and adults.

The day starts out at 10am with a family fun 5K trail run/walk. The course will run throughout the 370 acres of beautiful farmland with fresh air, rolling hills and creekside views. Participants of the 5K will receive a t-shirt and FREE entry into the festival for the entire day.

At noon, let the music begin with the talented Noah Smith Band Nominated for the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards for Best New Artist, Best Country Artist and Best Singer/Songwriter. Next in the line-up is the popular Americana band, Wilder. We are excited to bring some fun country music to the farm.

Today I met some super blogging rockstars and heard about many of their blog content, success stories and how they conduct business with PR firms on sponsored posts. No joke, these bloggers are so cool! It was like watching some documentary on talented athletes when they give you a “behind the scenes” tour and talk about how they were able to have so many slam dunks, home runs or touchdowns. The other awesome vibe I took away from meeting these superstars was that they all were so transparent and helpful towards each other – there was never any blogger-on-blogger crime but more of “you aren’t charging enough” and “congratulations on that awesome opportunity” which was great to hear. I’m so excited to help promote the 6th annual Bluegrass for Babies event and even more thrilled that The Herron Nest will be attending this year for the first time. Many positives for attending this event being held at Sawyer Point, but one major reason why we will be attending is because it is a benefit that was started by a passionate family who wanted to give back to Cincinnati Children’s which provided a life-saving surgery to their newborn son.

This year marks the first that Bluegrass for Babies is being produced under the Healthy Roots Foundation name, a change that occurred in August of 2014. The need for Foundation became apparent as Bluegrass for Babies evolved from the one-time a year concert into a year-round organization providing tools, programming and resources as well as to hosting a variety of special events.

{Event Details}

bluegrass babies104The concert lineup features performances by Ma Crow & The Lady Slippers, Comet Bluegrass All-Stars, and Hickory Robot. Ma Crow & The Lady Slippers will kick things off, performing at 3:00pm with the Comet Bluegrass All-Stars taking to the stage at 5:00pm. Rounding out the evening at 6:45 pm will be Hickory Robot. Special guest Jennifer Ellis will perform her popular children’s songs at 4:15pm.
Again this year, kids 12 and under will be able to eat free with the purchase of an adult meal from the Green B.E.A.N. Delivery concession stand until 6:00 pm. One free kids meal will be available, per one purchased adult meal. This year Bluegrass for Babies takes place at Sawyer Point on September 20 with just as many wonderful bluegrass bands as we’ve had in the past, and great food, vendors, activities and family fun.
Tickets for the Bluegrass for Babies benefit concert are $15 for adults in advance and $20 day of, with children admitted for free. Presale period ends Friday, September 19, 2013 at 10:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased at www.healthyrootsfoundation.org. Parking is $8 in the Sawyer Point parking lot. Discounted tickets are available for groups of 10+ adults until Friday, September 19.

When you commit to events at 37 weeks pregnant there is sure to be a few that just don’t work out, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey ® Presents Built To Amaze!℠ circus happened to be one. Lucky for me, I have a fantastic family who is always willing to jump in and help a sista out when she needs it the most (oh and the free tix were the bonus). Guest blogger, Jami White, was able to attend for me with my nephew, Bubby or Mason and my brother, Matt. Despite the fact that poor Bubby was puking in the middle of the night, they were one family that was not going to miss the chance to see elephants, tigers and clowns – OH MY!
